Competition seeks terror, fantasy films needed

In collaboration with Zapopan City Hall, the film production and distribution company Homosapiens Films is searching for new talents in the terror and fantasy genre.

The competition seeks budding filmmakers to submit their own short films in digital HD.  The films do not have to be hugely professional, but should be at least 90 percent complete. Company representatives say the winning entries will be cut together into a 90-minute film and screened in 120 movie theaters around the country. That is the prize, they say.

Homosapiens says it is not looking to steal ideas from unknowing creative talents.  The winners will be partners in the final production and share in the profits.

Announcing the project this week was María José Cristerna (right), better known as “La Mujer Vampiro,” due to the extraordinary range of tattoos and piercing on her entire body. Cristerna has been hired to link all the films together in the final production.

The short films must be submitted to Cultura Zapopan offices on Calle Colomos 2242 by May 31.
