Shenel Johns Quartet

The New York Jazz All Stars series returns with a performance by vocalist Shenel Johns, together with pianist Mark Meadows, bassist Jon Michel and drummer Jonathan Barber. Johns studied performance with jazz players Rene McLean, Jimmy Greene and Nat Reeves. She has shared stages with Curtis Fuller, Hank Jones, Dionne Warwick and Sheila Jordan and has collaborated with Dominic Farinacci, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Ulysses Owens Jr., Ronnie Burrage and Eddie Palmieri, among others.

Live from the Met

Gaetano Donizetti’s “La Fille du Régiment” sees tenor Javier Camarena and soprano Pretty Yende team up for a feast of bel canto vocal fireworks– including the show-stopping tenor aria “Ah! Mes amis,” with its nine high Cs. Alessandro Corbelli and Maurizio Muraro trade off as the comic Sergeant Sulpice, with mezzo-soprano Stephanie Blythe as the outlandish Marquise of Berkenfield. Enrique Mazzola conducts.

English indie pop rock band from Manchester, consisting of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Matthew “Matty” Healy, lead guitarist Adam Hann, bassist Ross MacDonald, and drummer George Daniel. Their choice of name was inspired by a Jack Kerouac beat poetry book.
