Live from the Met

Gaetano Donizetti’s “La Fille du Régiment” sees tenor Javier Camarena and soprano Pretty Yende team up for a feast of bel canto vocal fireworks– including the show-stopping tenor aria “Ah! Mes amis,” with its nine high Cs.

Alessandro Corbelli and Maurizio Muraro trade off as the comic Sergeant Sulpice, with mezzo-soprano Stephanie Blythe as the outlandish Marquise of Berkenfield. Enrique Mazzola conducts.

The 1975

English indie pop rock band from Manchester, consisting of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Matthew “Matty” Healy, lead guitarist Adam Hann, bassist Ross MacDonald, and drummer George Daniel. Their choice of name was inspired by a Jack Kerouac beat poetry book.

Queen tribute

The Teatro Degollado was filled to the rafters for the first Jalisco Philharmonic (OFJ) concert of 2019, on February 21. The music will continue to flow   Thursday, March 7 and Sunday, March 10, when German violinist Nicolas Koeckert  is the invited soloist.
