Talented musicians of different genres showcased each Monday. April 1: Classical guitarist Enrique Florez (above) and flutist Cuauhtemoc Garcia Verdugo give a recital. April 8: La Orquesta de Cámara Independiente de Guadalajara, directed by Guillermo Salvador, interprets works by Damy, Moncayo and Piazzolla (The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires). April 29: Michaël Bialobroda  (cello) and Saúl Ulises Ibarra Ramos (piano).

Live from the Met

In what is expected to be a Wagnerian event for the ages, soprano Christine Goerke plays Brünnhilde, Wotan’s willful warrior daughter, who loses her immortality in opera’s most famous act of filial defiance, “Die Walküre.”

This spectacle will bring famed opera star Maria Callas back to the stage 50 years after she last performed through state-of-the-art digital and laser technology for a live concert experience featuring original recordings digitally remastered, along with the live accompaniment of the Jalisco Philharmonic Orchestra.   Callas in Concert is scripted and directed by Creative Director Stephen Wadsworth, a veteran of many of Callas’ performances. Callas left a lasting impact on the world of opera as the definition of the diva as artist – and is still one of classical music’s best-selling vocalists and, arguably, the greatest soprano that has ever lived.
