Jalisco, UK, Canada join forces for disability-focused cultural initiative

Trazando Posibilidades, an initiative that seeks to strengthen the participation of people with disabilities in the arts, will take place over three days at various Guadalajara venues, Friday, December 6 through Sunday, December 8.

Co-sponsored by the British Council and the Jalisco Culture Department, along with the involvement of Canada Council for the Arts, Trazando Posibilidades is wrapped around a series of performances by highly creative international artists with various disabilities, as well as several workshops, a major conference and a multi-media exhibit.

Jalisco Culture Secretary Giovana Jaspersen says events such as these can “change the traditional paradigm that people with disabilities are  observers rather than participants” in artistic endeavors.

Four artistic presentations are scheduled, each lasting around an hour, with an entry fee of 60 pesos. No reservations are necessary.
