Met Opera running at Conjunto de las Artes

With the cancellation of the Metropolitan Opera’s Live in HD series at the MovieSpace cinemas at lakeside, the only other option in the area to watch the transmissions is at the Conjunto Santander de las Artes in Guadalajara.

pg6This space, located on the northern periferico (ring road) of the metropolitan area, is scheduled to show all the remaining nine live shows in the series, through March of 2023.

Next up is the iconic opera “La Traviata” by Guiseppe Verde on Saturday, November 5, 11:55 a.m.

In Michael Mayer’s vibrant production of Verdi’s beloved tragedy, soprano Nadine Sierra stars as the self-sacrificing courtesan Violetta—one of opera’s ultimate heroines. Tenor Stephen Costello is her self-centered lover, Alfredo, alongside baritone Luca Salsi as his disapproving father, and Maestro Daniele Callegari on the podium. Estimated run time: three hours.

Tickets cost from 160 to 300 pesos and can be purchased online at boletos.conjuntosantander.com. The Conjunto box office is open Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sundays, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Conjunto Santander de Artes Escénicas is part of the University of Guadalajara’s Centro Cultural Universitario, and is located at Anillo Periferico Norte 1695, Rinconada de La Azalea, Belenes Norte, Zapopan.
