Local exponents of the circus arts present a colorful spectacle showcasing a variety of skills (juggling, acrobacy, puppetry, etc.).
The world-famous “Concierto de Aranjuez” will be one of the highlights of a special concert to be given by the Jalisco Philharmonic Orchestra, also featuring the Jalisco State Choir, on Sunday, September 29, 12:30 p.m. The guest conductor will be Armando Pesqueira, the current director of the Chihuahua Philharmonic Orchestra. The invited guitarist is Pablo Garibay, a well-known Mexican performer and teacher.

The world famous New York Metropolitan Opera’s 2013–14 season of live transmissions to movie theaters in the United States and around the world begins on Saturday, October 5 with Tchaikovsky’s fateful romance “Eugene Onegin,” starring Anna Netrebko and Mariusz Kwiecien as the lovestruck Tatiana and the imperious Onegin.
The final two Sundays in September provide your last chance this year to see the world famous Ballet Folclorico of the Universidad de Guadalajara (UDG).
Free concerts
Guadalajara City Hall’s free Thursday evening concerts continue with Camaraetta Femenil.
With eight performances in Guadalajara and one in Chapala, young Mexican musicians from near and far will showcase their abilities at the fourth Youth Chamber Music Series (Ciclo de Música de Cámara Joven), which runs from Wednesday, September 18 to Friday, September 27.
