Chapala area artisans are offering their wares at a special edition of the Expo Chapala Artesanal (ECA) craft fair coinciding with the October 20 through 23 Pan American Games water ski competition. The big assortment of goods sold at bargain prices is on display daily, 10 a.m. to sundown, at La Vela plaza at the west end of the Chapala Malecon.
Pan Am cultural events set for this weekend include a recital by soprano Natalia Ramos on Friday night, and a Saturday show featuring local performers, both to be staged on the steps of the San Francisco parish church. A concert by the Mexican harp duo Los Centenarios will take place at the town plaza. All performances are open to the public free of charge, starting at 8 p.m.
