Latin diva and stand up comic at Red Piano

With an incredibly powerful vocal range, wide-ranging repertoire, dynamic stage presence and great sense of humor, the fabulous Kim Kuzma always puts on one amazing show!

And now, five stellar musicians join her in a cleverly paced Latin-infused performance she calls Unplugged!  Eduardo Leon playing flamenco-style guitar, Roberto Falcon on bass guitar, Brian “Brazil” Macedo on rhythm guitar, Enrique Jimenez on drums and Bobbie Tansen on flute.

Having been blown away by this electric show with an exotic edge at “The Piano’s” sister cabaret in Puerto Vallarta, The Palm, I just had to ask, ‘Why Unplugged?’

“Because we are so plugged in now!” (Selling out every week, the show has developed somewhat of a cult following, folks returning to see it again and again.)  “I just wanted people to think that there were guitars and it’s more of an acoustic feeling,” said Kuzma.

“I am so looking forward to bringing this show to El Piano Rojo because it’s so comfortable –– similar to having a really nice living room that you can invite many friends to.”

Kim Kuzma Unplugged! runs March 7, 8, 9, 10 at 7 p.m. Tickets cost 250 pesos.

Comedy

Hollywood’s irreverent stand-up comedian Del Shores’ brings his show “Naked. Sordid. Reality.” to El Piano Rojo on March 9 and 10 at 9 p.m.  Tickets cost 200 pesos.

And while Shores definitely says what most people just dare to think –– he has no censor, on or offstage –– don’t worry, there is no nudity in this show.  On the other hand, he does lay bare the juicy secrets of TV reality show participants.

Creator of the cult film and 2008 TV series, Sordid Lives, starring Olivia Newton-John, among others, Shores admits to being obsessed with, and inspired by, reality shows.  Shores performs his own version of reality in scenes from Hoarders, The Kartrashians and Real Housewives of Orange County, and more.  His musical interpretation of Adele is, well, shall we say a bit twisted.

Multi-talented, a writer/director/producer/actor/stand-up comedian, Shores began winning prestigious awards some 25 years ago and has never let up. Television credits include writing for Dharma & Greg and Queer as Folk, as well as writing, directing and producing Showtime movie The Wilde Girls.

The Red Piano box office opens two hours before show time.  The venue is at the corner of Morelos and 16 de Septiembre.
