Lakeside Little Theatre is presenting an advance preview of Jesus Christ Superstar for the Mexican community.

This LLT production of the classic rock opera, based on the last week of Jesus’ life, features a cast of 46 lakeside residents—including a seven-piece band. The musical is permeated with 1970s rock, gospel, folk and funk themes, modern language and colloquialisms, and high-energy dance numbers.

The show run, scheduled from January 26 to February 6, has been sold out since December.

The musical, written by Tim Rice (lyrics) and Andrew Lloyd Webber (music), is directed by Ann Swiston and Dave McIntosh. Music director is Gary Wayne Young; choreographer is Roy Hayne and stage manager is Win McIntosh. Underwritten by Sandra Jakubek in memory of Candace Luciano.
