Singers wanted for musical revue at Lakeside Little Theatre

Lakeside Little Theatre (LLT) will hold auditions for the first show of its 62nd season, “Grand Night for Singing,” a much-acclaimed revue of the beloved songs of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein, on Thursday and Friday, July 16 and 17.

The musical, which premiered in 1993 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s historic collaboration, and which featured songs from classic musicals such as “Carousel,” “The King and I,” “South Pacific,” and “Oklahoma,” was nominated for two Tony Awards because of its lovely balance of humor, romance, and nostalgia.

LLT’s production will be directed by Jim Houle, with music direction by Robert Thieme. “LLT has recently witnessed an influx of amazing new vocal talent,” explained Houle, “and now audiences expect only the best with our musicals. With these upcoming auditions, we’re hoping to discover yet more great local singers. It’s going to be an exciting, fun production.”

“Grand Night for Singing” has a cast of three women and two men. Those interested in auditioning should contact Houle at This email address is being protected from spambots.
