Community cultural events

All events at the Centro Cultural Ajijic, The Antigua Presidencia de Chapala and the Centro Cultural Gonzalez Gallo in Chapala have been suspended until further notice.

BRAVO! Theatre

BRAVO! Theatre has cancelled the final four performances of “The Book of Will” due to concern for the health of their audiences, staff, cast and crew. The show is cancelled — not postponed — because the period costumes were on loan from a theater in Ottawa and must be returned next week.

BRAVO! Theatre appreciates the support (financial, physical and emotional) during its first year in Riberas del Pilar and will be grateful for your continued assistance.

BRAVO! needs your help and financial support to keep the theater alive through this crisis. While there will be no income for several months, the rent, utilities and other expenses will continue to accumulate. Monetary contributions are welcome. If you would like to make a financial contribution please contact Jayme Littlejohn at This email address is being protected from spambots. If you are feeling especially generous, Littlejohn will discuss how you could become a sponsor or producer of one of the shows for next season.

If you have a pre-purchased ticket for “The Book of Will,” would you please consider that a donation? Or, if you would like a refund, contact Littlejohn, who will also be at the theater on the dates and times of performances to make sure everyone is taken care of.

If you have tickets for the show, originally scheduled for March 27 through April 5, your ticket will be applied to the same day of the show with the new dates. For example, if you have tickets for the second Friday that would now mean your ticket is valid for April 17.

LLT will also postpone National Theatre Live screening of “Small Island” to a later date, to be announced.

Hopefully, given the circumstances, many of you who cannot attend will choose to donate the value of your ticket. If you cannot or choose not to attend the new dates, email  This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. no later than Saturday, March 22.

LLT recently announced auditions for a Shakespeare event, originally scheduled to perform April 17, 18 and 19. This show will be rescheduled and new performance dates will be listed shortly.
