LCS Art Fair

The Lake Chapala Society  has always been committed to helping the community. It is now extending this outreach to the local arts community—especially Mexican artists who aren’t a part of organized arts groups, and artisans who have very few opportunities to show their handicrafts. Both of these segments of our community have suffered from loss of income during the pandemic.

As part of this initiative, LCS is holding a two-day Art Fair on March 18 and 19, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. None of the artists are being charged a fee to take part.
This will be an opportunity for local artists and artisans to showcase their art and handicrafts for the last time during the high season. It is also a fund-raiser for LCS programs that have suffered a loss of funding during Covid.
Come out and see the work of over 60 local artists and artisans, including: Efren Gonzalez, Jesús López Vega, Bruno Mariscal, the Tepehua Centre, Tarahumara handicrafts, COMMUNAR indigenous collective, Needlepushers, and the LCS Children’s Art Program.

Because this is a fund-raising event, there will be an admission fee of 50 pesos. This will be the only event occurring at LCS for these two days.
All Covid protocols will be followed, but proof of vaccination is NOT required.

A story of love and survival in its most transcendent sense, as the women refuse to allow the company, which pays them to paint glow-in-the-dark watch faces using radium, to kill their spirits or endanger the lives of those who come after them. The cast includes Linda Goman, Frank Lynch, Graham Miller, Gisele Phipps, Louise Ritchie and Darlene Sherwood. Show dates are Friday to Sunday, March 25, 26 and 27 with all show times at 4 p.m.
