Bare Stage audition
Bare Stage Theatre holds auditions for “ La Verite” (“The Truth”) by Florian Zeller (translation by Christopher Hampton), directed by Bernadette Jones. Shows will be July 29, 30 and 31.
Needed are two men and two women. If Bernadette is not familiar with you, include a photo and a note regarding your experience/training.

Jazz
The Diego Franco Tropical Quintet performs Latin and Mexican jazz at Casa Domenech, Tuesday, May 24, 6 p.m. Members are Diego Franco on sax, Fernando Franco on drums, Carlos Rolon on bass, Paolo Guerrero on trumpet and Diana Velasquez on trombone. Dance and mariachi
Ballet Folklorico Huitzillin, Ballet Folklorico Maya and Mariachi Nuevo Chapala perform Sunday, May 29, 7 p.m., at Centro Cultural Ajijic. Also at the center, Ajijic weavers Telares Los Reyes sponsors an exhibit of woven clothing and palm-leaf accessories by the Mixteca community in Oaxaca.

Ajijic Readers Theatre (ART) auditions for “Mark Boyer 10 Minute Play Festival” are Thursday, June 2, and Friday, June 3; registration 9:30 a.m., auditions 10 a.m., at LLT on the Terrace,
Required are ten women and ten men. Check LLT Facebook page for time slots for each play’s audition.
The festival includes eight 10-minute plays written by different playwrights in a variety of genres, with different directors and many actors. Show dates are August 4, 5, 6 and 7.

Lake Chapala Orchestra
The new improved and dynamic Lake Chapala Orchestra showcases its talents at concerts scheduled Friday, June 17, and Saturday, June 18, at the Lakeside Presbyterian Church in Riberas del Pilar. A program entitled “Symphonic Traditions” will be the first time the orchestra has presented a traditional orchestral concert—an overture, a concerto and a symphony.
