To mark the 250th anniversary of American independence, The BRAVO! presents a special staged one-man play reading of “Tom Paine’s Bones” Friday, July 3, at 4 p.m. Lakeside actor Mark Donaldson takes on the role of Thomas Paine, the influential Founding Father whose revolutionary pamphlets helped ignite the American Revolution. “The No Good Deeds of Founder Thomas Paine” was written by Lakeside resident Jeffrey J. Smith.

Exhibits
• Dawn Carver returns to Casa del Sol Inn on Friday, July 3, with a new exhibition of 20 black-and-white ceramic vases based on the Japanese ikebana style and other vases. Carver suggests the exhibition is “a perfect field trip for garden clubs or anyone who loves flowers in their home.”
• “Navigate the Memory,” a photographic exhibition of the history of Lake Chapala, is up at the Centro Cultural Antigua Presidencia in Chapala.
• Centro Cultural Ajijic hosts “Arte Organico,” a first solo exhibit by local muralist and painter Mario Ramírez. The exhibition features more than 20 new works in acrylic, watercolor, oil and mixed media.
• Local artists Rigoberto Navarro and Efrén González celebrate the fourth anniversary of the Ajijic Museo de Arte (AMA) with a new exhibit of sculpture and paintings. The new exhibit also showcases the rotation of works from the entire AMA collection, representing dozens of Mexican and foreign Lakeside artists. AMA is located at Flores Magón 3, West Ajijic, open Tuesday to Sunday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Flamenco
Monday, July 13, Lakeside Little Theatre (LLT) hosts Gala Flamenca, a world-class flamenco extravaganza produced by Pulso Flamenco del Lago. The event will feature acclaimed artists Paulina Ruiz Hernández, Sophia Arce, Artistic Director Emilia Gálvez and prodigy Mario Ruiz. Proceeds from these performances will benefit Ajijic Cares.
