Herradura tours

Tequila Herradura is offering Tapatios action-packed adventure tours in the countryside near its distillery in Amatitan.

For 1,300 pesos you can spend a day canyonerring, rappeling and swimming beneath waterfalls in Cañon Los Azules, or for 1,100 pesos you can go hiking in the agave-strewn landscapes of the Cerro de Amatitan.

Both trips include transport to and from Guadalajara, equipment, insurance, a meal and tequila tasting in Herradura’s San Jose del Refugio hacienda, plus entry to the Herradura museum and an explication of the tequila-making process.

Herradura also runs weekend visits to the almost-200-years-old San Jose del Refugio, with coaches leaving Guadalajara on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 9.30 a.m., plus weekly evening tours every Friday at 7 p.m. (returning at 1.30 a.m.) The price of 750 pesos (980 pesos for the evening tour) includes transport, entry, a guided tour, snacks and a free bar.
