St. Mark’s Anglican/Episcopal Church will have a garden procession on Palm Sunday, April 1, noon. During the service, the choir will sing seasonal music and hymns. This service is bilingual, English and Spanish. On Easter Sunday, April 8, a solemn bilingual Eucharist and Paschal candle lighting begins at 11 a.m. St. Mark’s eight-member choir, joined by additional singers and accompanied by Ana Silvia Guerrero on the organ, will sing Mozart’s Exsultate Jubilate, Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus and many favorite hymns. English Fellowship of Guadalajara (an offshoot of Rey de Reyes Presbyterian church) plans a potluck dinner at 7:30 p.m. Good Friday, April 6. At the dinner, there will be Bible readings marking Jesus’ crucifixion, followed by Communion. At 6 p.m. Easter Sunday, April 8, the service will be augmented by a baptism. English Fellowship’s normal four-part band, with guitars, keyboard, drums and voices, will present contemporary, seasonal, sacred music. The Christ the Redeemer Presbyterian bilingual congregation church in Bugambilias will have its regular English worship service on Palm Sunday April 1, 9:30 a.m. On Easter Sunday, April 8, the English service is again at 9:30 a.m., with seasonal music led by vocalists and musicians on piano and guitar. St. John Cristosomo Roman Catholic Church begins Holy Week with its regular 11 a.m. English Mass, featuring the accomplished a cappella group Cantabile, led by Jesus Chavez, singing Hosannah as an entrance hymn, followed by Stabat Mater and other songs. Cantabile sings every Sunday at the English Mass. On Easter Sunday, April 8, the regular Mass is again at 11 a.m. with Cantabile singing Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus and other traditional songs.
