Democrats Abroad to show ‘The End of America’ documentary at Amsoc

Democrats Abroad hosts its next “Sunday at the Movies” October 16, 2 p.m. at the American Society (Amsoc). The featured film is “The End of America,” based on Naomi Wolf’s book “The End of America: Letter of Warning to a Young Patriot.”

In the book Wolf takes a historical look at the rise of fascism, outlining ten steps necessary for a fascist group (or government) to destroy the democratic character of a nation-state and subvert the social/political liberty previously exercised by its citizens.

The documentary by filmmakers Annie Sundberg and Ricki Stern released in 2008 reveals how closely the United States was to following in the footsteps of Hitler and Mussolini in the aftermath of 9/11. This is a timely selection showing some very compelling comparisons with the elections and choices coming up this year.

Bring something to share to eat and a serving utensil as well as a favored beverage. Paper plates, cups, flatware, and napkins will be provided. A donation of 20 pesos is requested for the use the salon and the big screen.

Amsoc is located at Av. San Francisco 3332 between Juan Bernardino and Fco. Javier Clavijero. Everyone is welcome.  If possible, RSVP to Jude Wallesen at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. if you plan to attend.
