Not a scrap of turkey went to waste as more than 100 diners wolfed down a traditional Thanksgiving meal at the American Society (Amsoc) Thursday, November 24.
Voting on Amsoc’s new board of directors took place during the event. Ann Whiting was again elected president, a job that she announced she would be leaving at the end of 2017. Frank Rodriguez is vice president, Bruce Newby is treasurer, and the secretary’s position is yet to be filled – any volunteers? asks Whiting. On the board of directors are Cam and Cliff Esser, Fred Hanna, Marion Leith and Maria Solileau. Two more board positions can be filled.
Presenting their work at a special one-day exhibition were photographer Luis Cotto Vasallo and artist Ana Armador. Works by the late Joyce Bownds were also displayed.
