AmSoc rings in 4th with White House flag

The American Society of Jalisco (AmSoc), a sixty-year-old organization dedicated to helping foreign residents,

would-be retirees and travelers navigate life in Jalisco, held an Independence Day celebration at their headquarters in the city’s Chapalita neighborhood, Thursday, July 6.

Hamburgers, chips, coleslaw and ice cream were served to the 40-odd attendees, who also availed themselves of a small self-service bar.

There were several activities planned, including a quiz on early American historical trivia and a raffle, but the main event was the unveiling of an American flag which once flew at the White House, gifted to the American Society by its President Ann Whiting, who when president of Rotary International’s Club Guadalajara, District 4150, had herself received it from Rotary Poniente GDL.
