As expected, two African runners won last weekend’s 33rd edition of the Guadalajara Half Marathon.
Mathew Kipkoech Kisorio of Kenya and Afera Godfay Berha of Ethiopia came first in the men’s and women’s races.
Godfay’s time of one hour, eight minutes and 53 seconds set a new record for the event. Kenyan runners filled the remaining spots on the winner’s podium in both races. The highest placed Mexicans were Juan Luis Barrios and Esmeralda Rebollo, who both finished fifth in their respective races. Some 13,600 runners participated in this hugely popular event.
