The Lakeside Carolers have set their caroling day for Friday, December 16, beginning at 10:30 a.m., when they will meet in the Centro Laguna parking lot near the Wings restaurant.
Since the Carolers bill themselves as a “rag-tag pick-up singing group that has no rehearsals” (except maybe a couple of tunes in the parking lot before the day begins), folks are welcome to drop in and out of the group as their personal schedules and preferences permit. They also invite singing and musical groups that do practice to join them and perform some of their own arrangements of holiday presentations.
Folks who have holiday attire such as Christmas socks, blinking reindeer antlers, ties, vests, shirts, Santa hats and the like should wear them. Rides will be available for those who are without transportation. Song booklets will be provided along with song sheets for the residents of the homes to be visited.

11 a.m. Shangri-La Retirement Living Facility, Ramon Corona 169 in San Antonio Tlayacapan. The telephone number is 766-1359.

3 p.m. Alicia’s Convalescent Home at Paso del Lago 7 in La Floresta. The phone number is 766-3152.
4 p.m. Abbeyfield located between Pedro Moreno and 5 de Mayo across from the Ajijic malecon. The phone number is 766-2045.
The carolers will stop for lunch at Centro Laguna Shopping Center’s Food Court when they finish their gig at Casa Nostra.
Some carolers sing at all the stops and some at just one or two. It’s become traditional to make Abbeyfield the last stop. The carolers who choose to remain bring nibbles and drinks to join the Abbeyfield residents for their 5 p.m. “Happy Hour” on the veranda.
Taking music to these homes brings a lot of joy to both the audiences and the singers. Think about joining in for at least some of the fun. It’s healthy!
