St. Andrew’s Church disperses Regalorama funds to local charities

March 18, St. Andrew’s Anglican Church gave out funds garnered from their Regalorama yard sale event last December. Each year, charities present their requests to the St. Andrew’s Outreach Committee.

This year, rather than just giving out funds, the Outreach Committee tied the amount of the funds given to specific material needs of the chosen charities. Charities receiving these funds are required to use them for those specific material needs and will produce receipts for those purchases. The total amount of money given to local charities for their needs amounts to 166,000 pesos.

Love in Action Children’s Center (Centro Amor en Accion Brazos Extendidos, A.C.) received funds for the purchase of six new washing machines.

Silvia Flores (Centro de Desarrollo Jocotepec, A.C.) received financing for four sexuality and reproductive health workshops with 70 students in each, including supplies.

Red Cross Chapala (Cruz Roja Mexicana IAP) received funds for the purchase of an EKG machine and other medical equipment.

Hope House (Casa Hogar Una Esperanza en el Corazon, A.C.) received funding for a new stainless steel double sink for their new kitchen.

Los Niños de Chapala y Ajijic, A.C. (NCA) received financial assistance for three students in their scholarship program for one year.

Programa pro Niños Incapacitados del Lago, A.C. received funds for the partial payment of a child’s surgery.

University & Vocational Assistance (UVA) (Little Chapel by the Lake, A.C. received financial assistance for a university student for one year.

Villa Infantil de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe y San Jose, A.C. received funds for the purchase for a new laptop computer, desk top computer and printer for the new office now required by the State of Jalisco.

The Outreach Committee at St. Andrew’s is already collecting donations for their Regalorama event set for December 1.
