Trick-or-treating in La Floresta

The La Floresta neighborhood in Ajijic is a child’s delight on Halloween. A few hundred short scary looking ghosts, monsters, witches and ghouls knocked on doors in the leafy colonia while parents kept a sharp eye on the littlest ones.

Many of La Floresta’s Mexican, Canadian and U.S. residents were ready for the Halloween onslaught with bowls full of candy, door-front decorations and their own frightening getups. “Queremos Halloween” opened doors as streams of skeletons, vampires and other ghouls filled their bags and kept the tricks to a minimum.
