Masonic Lodge Axixic #31 is again backing community projects – this time helping Ajijic Town Administrator Hector España with his clean-up project involving children.
Each Saturday morning, España accompanies a large group of young people on a tour of the Ajijic Malecon, beach front, streets and other places in a bid to keep the town clean and litter free.
After the walk España sits down and talks with the young volunteers about taking pride in keeping their home town clean. He then provides them with a snack and liquid refreshment, which he usually pays for out of his own pocket.
As usual, the Masonic family has been more than willing to help out. The Lodge recently purchased enough t-shirts to outfit all of the kids in the group. They are bright orange so they can be easily be seen by drivers and adult supervisors on the walks.
