Jocotepec leads in fostering tradesmanship

Customers last week browse an array of hand-crafted huaraches made during four-week training workshops offered to unemployed residents of Jocotepec.

The sale was held Friday, August 1 following a ceremony in which 125 men and women received diplomas and a monetary stimulus for completing their instruction.

With 1.2 million pesos channeled through federal and state agencies – equivalent to 18 percent of the total earmarked for training programs in the region – Jocotepec is clearly a leader in generating self-employment opportunities.
