Lake Chapala Baptist

Asks Associate Pastor Gary Smith: “Have you ever been in the Hoosegow?

(The calabozo, jail; from early Mexican Spanish – ‘juzgado.’) Well, some of the Apostles surely experienced it with the Romans.  Few folks know that Peter experienced the Hoosegow; many know about his time in the ‘clink.’  Peter is scheduled for execution. The night before ,he gets a good night’s sleep, and without Sominex!  God gave Peter ‘… a peace that passeth understanding.’  You can have it too!  Well pardner, I’m not from Texas, not even the South, but I know this stuff!  At times, we find ourselves in prisons of despair and trials. God will use whatever means necessary to care for His children in the prison times of our lives.  Paul and Silas while in prison sang songs of praise to the Lord. Peace and Praise can be available to you too.”

Smith will share this message at the worship service of the Lake Chapala Baptist Church, Sunday, April 23, 11 a.m. It is located at Santa Margarita 147, Riberas del Pilar.

Home Church Int’l

“Following Resurrection Day this past Sunday, we hope your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is stronger than ever,” say pastors Paul and Susana Allen. “Really, there should be no ‘let-down’ following this special celebration. The One who arose is with us still and for all eternity.”

The Allens enjoy a continuation of the joy in house churches as a part of Home Church International. “Even though the apostles were beaten and threatened as leaders of the early church, the scripture says.  And every single day, in the temple area and in homes, they did not stop teaching and telling the good news of Jesus as the Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed). Matt. 5:42 Amplified. His conquering death, the greatest of the good news, gives us the hope we need. Let us guide you in your eternal journey.”
