The Lake Chapala Society (LCS) got a head start on summer with the second annual picnic bash held Saturday, June 17.
A crowd of nearly 250 guests gathered on the lush grounds for an afternoon of outdoor fun in perfect June weather. The spread of classic picnic foods included grilled beef or portabello mushroom burgers and hot dogs, served with potato chips, slices of watermelon and the trimmings, plus fresh corn on the cob and an ample array of home baked desserts.
Microbreweries Fortuna, Corazon Malta and Naipe set up stands to pour different types of craft beers to cool parched throats, complementing the selection of mixed drinks and sodas offered at the cash bar.
Jamm Band (below) cranked out sets of live tunes to get folks up and dancing in the gazebo, keeping the party atmosphere jumping throughout the event.
Proceeds from entry fees are earmarked to support the LCS children’s art workshop and other educational outreach programs for the Mexican community.
