A crowd of well-wishers flocked to the home of Julianne and Chisholm Lyons last Sunday to celebrate double milestones: the couple’s 60th wedding anniversary and Chisholm’s upcoming 90th birthday.
The pair married on October 8, 1957 in Toronto where they raised seven children, including twin sons born on their fifth anniversary.
They first visited lakeside in the 1970s, finally putting down roots in Ajijic in 2003.
All of their offspring, four granddaughters, extended family members and lifetime friends traveled from as far as Canada and the United Kingdom to join local amigos in raising a toast on the special occasion.
