Santa Cruz, Atotonilquillo next up for plaza renewals

The Chapala government  has lined up federal funding to remodel the central plazas in Santa Cruz de la Soledad and Atotonilquillo.

This week, Chapala Mayor Javier Degollado and members of his staff visited each town to present architectural designs of the overhauls for public review.

With approval from the inhabitants, the projects are set to get underway promptly to comply with regulations that require completion by the end of the calendar year.

A total of 2,544,000 pesos has been ticketed for Santa Cruz, with an additional 1,475,000 going to Atotonilquillo.

The current administration has already carried out plaza makeovers in San Antonio Tlayacapan and San Nicolás de Ibarra and minor improvements to Ajijic’s town square.  Renovations along the Ajijic highway have fallen behind schedule, about half-done at the projected finish date of November 20.
