CASA keeps up pace over summer months

Although the number of members has dropped from a high of 60 a few months ago to about 35 at the most recent meeting of the Culinary Arts Society of Ajijic (CASA), Monday, May 21, there was still a hearty feast prepared by seven home chefs and six delicious pies to sample.

All the dishes were elegantly presented. Six of the CASA’s sponsored culinary students from the Instituto Tecnologico Superior de Chapala enjoyed the eye-catching presentations and cuisine, and one of them, Susan Lopez, was invited to be a judge, along with Barbara Passarello and Sean Godfrey.

The winner of the 50-50 draw gave his share to the student’s education fund. The next meeting is Monday, June 18, 4 p.m. at the Hotel Montecarlo. The categories are salad main course and for dessert, sweet rolls, muffins, scones and doughnuts.
