Christ Church Lakeside
Christ Church Lakeside, formally Christ Church Episcopal, an Anglican/Episcopal mission of the Diocese of the West in the Anglican Church of Mexico, will observe the First Sunday After Pentecost, Trinity Sunday, May 27, with the Holy Eucharist at 10 a.m. in the La Huerta Eventos Center, Carretera West 522, West Ajijic. Fr. Danny Borkowski will preside and give a message “Why?” based on John 3:1-17.
Following refreshments and coffee (bring your own cup) after the service, the Lunch Bunch will meet at noon at Pranzo Bistro in La Floresta, 766-1668.
Little Chapel by the Lake
“Luke takes us back to a time before there were any churches, any apostles, any popes. There was only Jesus. Jesus, and regular folk like you and me. Come explore this Sunday, May 27, with Pastor Jim Andrew and the rest of us at The Little Chapel by the Lake the essence of faith and the simplicity of following the One who still invites, “Follow Me.”

Lakeside Presbyterian
For Sunday, May 27, Dr. Wayne Cook has chosen as his sermon: “Loving one another, Serving one another, Forgiving one another, and Confessing to one another,” drawing his text from John 13:35.
Some would like to live the Christian life in isolation. The Bible tells us that Christ loved the church, and gave himself for her (Eph. 5:25). He designed the church so that all of us could not only receive, but also give to other people. The basis for faith is to be inter-connected through relationships. The phrase “one another” appears frequently in the Bible to demonstrate how Christ desires us to grow in relationships.
Outreach News: Lakeside Presbyterian Church (LPC) continues to reach out to those who need help. LPC volunteers fèted the smallest members of our congregation on El Dia del Niňo (Children’s Day). The youngsters enthusiastically enjoyed jello, cake and pancakes, while their parents had the opportunity to spend fun time with their children in an atmosphere of unity and fraternity.

English-language services begin each Sunday at 10 a.m., Spanish-language services at 9 a.m. Sunday School for Adults begins at 8:30 a.m. in the Library, and Fridays, Bible Study begins at 9:45 a.m., also in the Library.
St. Andrew’s Anglican
St. Andrew’s celebrates Trinity Sunday, May 27. “We may be tempted to approach the Trinity as a riddle – as something to figure out. However, recognizing God as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is less a concept to be understood and more a mystery to be lived into,” says the Rev. Glenn Chalmers, Rector of St. Andrew’s.”
St. Andrew’s service of Holy Eucharist begins Sunday, 10 a.m. and bilingual Sunday School starts at 9:45 a.m. Coffee hour, a time of fellowship and welcome, follows the service.
Every Sunday, Operation Feed, the feeding program supported by St. Andrew’s, welcomes donations of non-perishable food items. Boxed milk and empty cardboard egg cartons are especially welcome, in addition to rice, beans, pasta, lentils, garbanzos, oats, oil and salt. The parish distributes these foodstuffs to the Lakeside’s neediest families.

Lake Chapala Baptist
Hosea 4:8: “The priests feed on the sin offerings of my people, their heart longs for their iniquity.” How do the priests feed on the sin of the people? Why do they want the masses to sin?
The priests received a portion of the sacrifice as payment; they also charged a fee for “processing” the sacrifice. Since the priests got a portion of the goods, it was a profitable business. The more the Israelites sinned, the more sacrifices would come in and the priests began to become rich. This being the case, why try to get the people to stop their offenses against God. Make it increase for even more money!
People are the same. This is how it is in the church now. Church discipline is an archaic concept and sin abounds more and more with no check.
So let verse 7 apply. Hosea 4:7: “The more the priests increased in numbers, the more they sinned against me. Therefore, I will change their glory into shame.”

Jewish Congregation
Shabbat Torah services are held the first and third Saturday of the month, 10 a.m., and Shabbat evening services and potluck every second and fourth Friday, 6 p.m. at the Lake Chapala Jewish Congregation.

The Lord’s Church
This Sunday, May 27, and next Sunday, June 3, the Lord’s Church will hold a non-denominational Christian, English-language service at the beautiful event center at La Paz 14 in San Antonio Tlayacapan. Plenty of free parking, beautiful setting and even a playground for the children.

Home Church Int’l
Most who read this will remember an old song entitled, “Detour, There’s A Muddy Road Ahead.” Some who ignore exhortations such as this usually regret it. Their purpose? Our protection and direction. One can bet that there will be consequences for not heeding the message. The co-partner to avoiding a detour is diversion. This is usually when one decides to trust in his own wisdom, and choose an alternative as if it could even be considered a “better” option. Often “Oh, no!” follows this stubbornness.
The same realizations can be easily applied in the spiritual realm. When we are so used to just calling our own shots, Godly wisdom puts a check in our journey quite often. That’s when we attempt to be our own god. “That advice is from that religious bunch,” they say. The truth? Man can and does dream up his own wisdom. This is a diversion from that which we should be following, namely, God’s wisdom. This comes from His Word and His Holy Spirit. Pastors Paul and Susana Allen remind us that He is not pleased with religion. We follow Him in relationship.
