Discovering deep truths: Spiritual engagement in Ajijic

SatsangAjijic offers “A Day of Presence,” Saturday, July 21, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Blue Door, Aquiles Serdan 5 in Ajijic.

pg18bA Day of Presence is an opportunity to explore silence, meditation contemplation and self-inquiry in a supportive and quiet environment. The intention of a day of presence is to support spiritual seekers and those interested in spiritual self-realization, to have a day of investigation to deepen their own spiritual engagement, discover the truth that is hidden deep within and realize what is always here, present, peaceful and joyful.

To be as presence, moment to moment, is to be free from the tyranny of the conditioned mind allowing you to see what is real, what is true and what is possible in this life time. Taking time off from the daily routine and obligations can be a unique opportunity to be fully present with yourself, realize your own true nature and the possibility to discover that awakening is always awake, in you as you.

This Day of Presence involves several meditation modalities to support everyone – practiced meditators and beginners alike. — in exploring the possibility to be present in every aspect of life and not just when we sit in meditation but walking, stretching, moving, contemplating, creating, eating and breathing.

Noris Binet, a visual artist, author and spiritual teacher, will lead the event. She offers her Dharma poetry during Satsang (a gathering in truth) wherein she facilitates meditative self-awareness and self-inquiry to support spiritual awakening. She is in the non-dual tradition under the lineage of Ramana Maharshi and her root teacher is Gangaji.

Binet holds an honorary doctorate in counseling and philosophy from the IIHS in Montreal, Canada. Her studies include meditation and Pranayama in India, the art of offerings in Indonesia, and shamanic practices in Mexico. She has practiced dreams alchemy for over 30 years.

Binet offers a monthly Satsang in Spanish and in English.
