Christ Church Lakeside
Christ Church Lakeside, a mission of the Diocese of the West in the Anglican Church of Mexico, will observe the 26th Sunday after Pentecost, November 18, with the Holy Eucharist at 11 a.m. in La Huerta Events Center. Rev. Danny will preside and give a message “The Day” based on Mark 13:1-8. All are welcome.

Little Chapel by the Lake
Unconditional love. God has it. He invented it. He defines it. That doesn’t mean He doesn’t require right living from us. But whatever requirements He makes are motivated by His intense, joyous devotion to us. He wants the best for you and me. And when we fail (and we will) to live up to those ideals, nothing changes in His commitment to us. There is nothing we can do to make Him love us less. There is nothing we can do to make Him love us more. “God … is love”, says one of His disciples that knew Him best.

Lake Chapala Baptist
I’m sure you’ve felt pressure at times in your life. It can be stressful. A deadline has to be met, a decision has to be made or a task needs to be completed. We often run full tilt until we get those few precious weeks of vacation and then try to pack as much living as possible into them, often returning more exhausted than when we began.
The Bible counsels believers to “wait on the Lord.” Step back from the situation and quietly consider your options. Take time to pray asking the Lord what you should do. A mature friend once told me that if anyone asked him for a decision and said, “I need an answer right now,” his answer was always, “No.” He wanted time to “wait on the Lord” and often the situation would be resolved during that time of contemplation. That advice has been helpful when I’ve been faced with difficult decisions. I want to be diligent but find it’s important to take time to “wait on the Lord.”

Unitarian Universalists
Bob Koches will speak on “The Path to Wisdom – Acquiring Wisdom as We Grow Older on our Journeys from Ageing to Sageing” at the next meeting of the Lake Chapala Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, Sunday, November 18.
The congregation will explore the paths taken to reach elderhood and how to acquire wisdom along the way. This will also be an introduction to the class “Elderhood and Spirituality” that will be offered by Rev. Matt Alspaugh from November 19. Kathy Koches is the service leader.
The Unitarians meet Sundays, 10:30 a.m., at Hidalgo 261, on the Carretera in Riberas del Pilar, opposite the Catholic Church.
Abundant Life Church
Why does it seem like we have constant conflict? Do you ever wonder why God allows us to live life from one test to the other when he has the power to do something about it? Sunday, November 18, Pastor Gary gives us biblical reasons why the church lives in constant conflict and shows what our response should be. God wants to teach you something and He thinks the lesson is worth the price, just as you will once you see it through His eyes.
Abundant Life Church’s worship service in English is held Sundays, 10 a.m., and Bible Study, Wednesday, 3 p.m. Spanish-language services are Sundays at noon. Spanish Bible studies are on Wednesday, 6:45 p.m. A children’s ministry is held Saturday, noon, and bilingual youth meet Sunday, 6:30 p.m. Communion is celebrated the first Sunday of each month.

Lakeside Presbyterian
In times of need, Christians turn to God and ask for His miraculous intervention – especially for physical healing. Sometimes the results are positive, while other times there seems to be no sign of God’s intervention, leading to questions and even challenges to our faith. Sunday, November 18, Pastor Ross Arnold addresses these questions in his sermon, “God Always Heals.”
The Joy of Giving: Loving hands continue to reach out to those who need help. Weekly despensas, clothing and shoes still in good condition, and appropriate responses to whatever need may arise are needed. St. Andrew’s Anglican

Every Sunday, Operation Feed, the program supported by St. Andrew’s, welcomes donations of non-perishable food items. Boxed milk and empty cardboard egg cartons are especially welcome, in addition to rice, beans, pasta, lentils, garbanzos, oats, oil and salt. The parish distributes the donations to Lakeside’s neediest families.

Pursuing the worth of something determines a person’s next move. It may be simple curiosity, or it may be a determining step to proceed to a serious decision. One of Paul’s grandfathers would look at an item of interest and ask, “What’s it worth?” What we know is that an item may be worth a lot to one person, and not to another. Ignorance, historical experience, or prejudice might reveal a person’s true interest.
Worth is a very prominent expression in the Bible and in the total spiritual realm. By itself, worth denotes value. Our worth to the Lord is expressed in John 3:16. “For God so loved the world that He gave ….” This doesn’t mean that He loved those who were worthy of it. The prodigal son wrongly assumed he was not worthy to return home with honor and love. Shouldn’t that say something to us about attitudes towards others? Our worth to God is incalculable! Dare we run from or ignore our Creator God who gave His only Son for us?

Meditation Circle
The Chapala Meditation Circle of Self Realization Fellowship holds meditation services Thursdays, 7 to 9 p.m. Paramahansa Yogananda, author of the spiritual classic “Autobiography of a Yogi,” founded Self Realization Fellowship in 1920 to make available the universal teachings of Kriya Yoga, a sacred spiritual science originating millennia ago in India.

Bridge for everyone
Catherine Gonzalez brings back her popular supervised bridge games at the Lake Chapala Duplicate Bridge Club every Wednesday, 1:30 to 4 p.m., beginning November 28. Whether you want to learn how to play, improve your game or learn new bidding systems, this group makes it fun. A lesson is given on a single topic, followed by discussion and then a casual, non-competitive supervised game with advice from an instructor on the hand you’re playing.
