“A Celebration of Flowers” was the theme of the Lake Chapala Garden Guild’s 50th anniversary floral show, held November 9 at the home of Erma and Cam Doherty.
Guest artist Efren Gonzalez painted a picture during the show that was auctioned off with the proceeds donated to the Guild’s community projects.
Show chairperson Sharon Smith thanked guest presenters Herbert Piekow, Linda Buckthorpe and Mary Bragg for their participation.
A memorial table was set up to honor members who have passed away. Barbara Nettleton and Connie Hayes took photographs.
The Guild began 50 years ago as a group of women who went to each others’ homes to trade cuttings and gardening tips. In half a century it has evolved into a thriving organization that undertakes floral arranging in addition to gardening.
The Garden Guild appreciates the opportunity to serve lakeside through annual community projects and the floral show.
