Lakeside Community Fellowship
Lakeside Community Fellowship is a new and vibrant evangelical Christian fellowship, meeting every Sunday, 10 a.m. at Hidalgo 441, in the new Bravo Theater directly adjacent to the Carretera.
All are welcome to attend. Youth and children’s Sunday school classes are available during the service.
Our mission is “Serving Christ ... serving the community.” In light of this, we have very practical projects for those in need within the community, combined with the biblical message of God’s love through Jesus Christ.

St. Andrew’s Anglican
Sunday, March 3, The Very Rev. Liza Spangler will preside and preach.
St. Andrew’s service of Holy Eucharist begins Sunday, 10 a.m., and bilingual Sunday School starts at 9:45 a.m. Coffee hour and a time of fellowship and welcome follow the service.
The traditional Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper is March 5, with social hour at 4 p.m. followed by comida at 5 p.m. The cost is 50 pesos.
The Ash Wednesday service of Eucharist and the Imposition of Ashes is March 6, 11 a.m.
The 2019 Episcopal Calendar, 100 pesos, is available in the parish office, as are 2019 offering envelopes.
Every Sunday, Operation Feed, the program supported by St. Andrew’s, welcomes donations of non-perishable food items. Boxed milk and empty cardboard egg cartons are especially welcome, in addition to rice, beans, pasta, lentils, garbanzos, oats, oil and salt. The parish distributes the donations to Lakeside’s neediest families.
Every donation or consignment made to St. Andrew’s resale shop, Todo Bueno, benefits the Outreach Ministry of St. Andrew’s. Todo Bueno is located on the Carretera, just west of S&S Auto in Riberas del Pilar. Open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

Unitarian Universalists
Richard Clarke will present “Age-ing to Sage-ing: Elder and Still Growing,” at the next meeting of the Lake Chapala Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Sunday, March 3.
We are living longer and healthier lives, but how can we learn the lessons and harvest our life? How can we keep growing personally? How can we best contribute to friends and family and serve the community? Learn what you can do today to keep yourself alive and growing each day,and hear experiences of people trying to do just that.

Nehemiah 1:1-7, 11. Comfort is a delightful habit, a luxury, like old soft leather moccasins. We treasure Lakeside’s weather, its warm and welcoming people, culture and food … but we one day realize that nothing lasts forever. Our personal delights and circumstances fade. God seldom leaves us in our comfort zone, and like Nehemiah, we are put in definitely uncomfortable places and circumstances.
March 3 is a Communion Sunday. Communion is now offered immediately after services on non-communion Sundays (2nd and 4th). Ash Wednesday Service is March 6, 10 a.m.

Abundant Life Church

Christ Church Lakeside
Christ Church Lakeside (CCL), a parish of the Diocese of the West in the Anglican Church of Mexico, will observe the last Sunday after the Epiphany, March 3, by celebrating the Holy Eucharist at 11 a.m. in La Huerta Events Center. Fr. Jim Powers will preside and give a message with the theme “Transfiguration” based on Luke 9:28-43a.

San Andrés Mass

The San Andrés English congregation holds a “First Sunday of the Month Food Drive” to help support the children at Villa Infantil orphanage in Jocotepec and the sisters who care for them. Consider bringing a non-perishable food item, toilet tissue, cleaning products, and the like to Sunday’s Liturgy.
At San Andrés Catholic Church on Ash Wednesday (March 6), 9 a.m., the faithful are invited to receive the sign of the Cross on the forehead traced with ashes made from the palm branches blessed during the Passion Sunday 2018. Penitence is an essential part of the Christian life, for none of us can measure up to the tremendous vocation that is ours as Christians. We are in constant need of the mercy and forgiveness of God. We express this by taking part in an impressive corporate act of penitence and reconciliation, beseeching God for the grace to use with profit the “favorable time” of preparation for the celebration of Christ’s Passover feast. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is available after Sunday Liturgy or by appointment.

Lake Chapala Baptist
One of the most well-known and beloved verses in the Bible is John 3:16. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.”We cannot earn this gift and we are not worthy of it. Nothing we say or do makes it possible. Our good works are not sufficient. This is God’s gift of grace to those who believe. What a magnificent gift. But God goes further in the next verse which is less well known: John 3:17, “For God did not send His son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved.” A number of years ago, there was a group that said, “WWJD?” (What would Jesus do?) There are many people in this world that we consider “the others.” They may be a different race, religion, socioeconomic back ground or have different beliefs or opinions. If we are to follow in Jesus’ footsteps, we must not condemn those who are different from us but must reach out a hand to help them. Indeed, What would Jesus do?

Since most of the New Testament is translated into and from the Greek language, the word “church” in Greek is “ekklesia,” which means “the called-out ones.” Called out to be His salt and light to our world, and called out away from the evil influences of this world. Churches are initiated with an intent to beckon people to worship and share their faith for encouragement and growth. They hope to meet at chosen times and days to encourage even reticent worshipers to participate.
