Christ Church Lakeside
Christ Church Lakeside (CCL), a parish of the Diocese of the West in the Anglican Church of Mexico, will observe the first Sunday after Pentecost (Trinity Sunday), June 16, by celebrating the Holy Eucharist at 11 a.m. in La Huerta Events Center. Rev. Danny Borkowski will preside and give a message, “Proper Glory.”
CCL is hosting Barbara Harkness, who will introduce the Red Cross’ “Info in a Jar” program following the service. Harkness will give a brief history of the program, a description of the jar contents and information about upcoming workshops. All are welcome to come and worship. Coffee and refreshments are available before and after the service.
Following the worship and special invitation, everyone is invited to a Fathers’ Day Potluck, 1 p.m. Please bring a main dish, side dish, salad or dessert item to share.
The Bible Study meets Thursday, June 20, 3 p.m., in the home of Elizabeth Carroll, Galeana 35 in Ajijic. All are welcome to learn about the inspired contents of the Bible and share their insights with each other.
Jewish Congregation
Shabbat Torah services are held the first and third Saturday of the month, 10 a.m., and Shabbat evening services and potluck every second and fourth Friday, 6 p.m., at the Lake Chapala Jewish Congregation.

St. Andrew’s Anglican
Sunday, June 16, the Rev. Liza Spangler will preside and preach.
St. Andrew’s service of Holy Eucharist begins Sunday, 10 a.m., and bilingual Sunday School starts at 9:45 a.m. The Potluck Father’s Day luncheon will follow the service.
Every Sunday, Operation Feed, the program supported by St. Andrew’s, welcomes donations of non-perishable food items. Boxed milk and empty cardboard egg cartons are especially welcome, in addition to rice, beans, pasta, lentils, garbanzos, oats, oil, and salt. The parish distributes the donations to Lakeside’s neediest families.
Every donation or consignment made to St. Andrew’s resale shop, Todo Bueno, benefits the Outreach Ministry of St. Andrew’s. Todo Bueno is located on the Carretera, just west of S&S Auto in Riberas del Pilar. Open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
Todo Bueno needs volunteers to serve as sales clerks. Shifts are 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 12:30 to 3 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Ephesians 4:2-3 states, “Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.”
Christian love is patient because it is realistic. The Bible affirms what we already know; there’s something wrong with all of us. Sometimes people call that depravity. As darling as your three-year-old granddaughter can be, you don’t need a theologian to tell you she’s got an “evil twin” inside her as well. We all suffer from a curvature of the soul. All of us live with people who are imperfect. The world is filled with failures, and we soon discover that people will fail us. All of us fall short of being what we want to be. We need God’s grace to be patient with others. And we can be patient because God is patient with us

Unitarian Universalists
Sunday, June 16, Matt Alspaugh speaks on “Life is Change, Growth is Optional” at the Lake Chapala Unitarian Universalist Fellowship.
There’s plenty of truth to this aphorism, both for individuals and institutions. We’ll reflect on change in our lives, and how change creates openings for growth. We’ll explore what resisting change, and choosing not to grow looks like, as well as wise and unwise growth.
This service will be followed by a time of discussion. It is the second of three conversations in the board’s Open Questions series. We will consider the questions: How do you see the Fellowship developing over the next three to five years? Do you expect to see the Fellowship growing both in terms of membership numbers and our involvement in the local community and within the congregation?

Lakeside Presbyterian

In past weeks, LPC pastors have looked at questions Jesus asked. This Sunday’s question is from Luke, “What shall it profit a man if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?”

Saturday morning classes for Spanish speakers continue – computer, sewing, and English as a Second Language (ESL), 10 a.m.

Social Drop-In and Sixties Singalongs are Tuesdays, 1 to 4 p.m. Light snacks are served, 2 p.m. All are welcome.
LPC assists those who need the “hand-up,” children’s clothes are in particularly short supply. All apparel and shoes in good condition will be distributed to those who will truly value them. Garden and orchard produce also are appreciated, adding interest to menus which are necessarily sometimes repetitive. “Making a difference” or “lending a hand.” No matter how we label our loving care, it’s a tonic for the soul. Abundant Life Church
Have you ever wondered why there are problems in the church? One could reason that with Jesus as the head, there would never be a problem. The truth is that Jesus is the ultimate head of authority yet not everyone has submitted to that authority. In the time of His earthly ministry, Jesus faced many problems that could have destroyed the work he was doing. But he faced each one directly with His authority and love. Come this Sunday, June 16. Abundant Life Church is affiliated with the Assemblies of God of Mexico and has services for everyone. Home Church Int’l
What do we mean, “Home Church?” Simply put, it is when the body of Christ meets in a home rather than a conventional church building. In the original Greek text of the New Testament, the word “church” was ekklesia, which when interpreted means “the called-out ones.” That’s who we are. Called out to meet together for worship, sharing, and fellowship. Thus, it is more informal and more intimate. It is not limited to pews, pulpit, organ, piano, steeple, etc.
This method of worship is how the first churches usually met. Back then, the advantage was the flexibility of days, hours, and places to meet. “Sunday-only” meetings are not a biblical mandate in the New Covenant. Jesus clarified this in Mark 2:27: “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath.”

Lakeside CommunityFellowship
Lakeside Community Fellowship is a new and vibrant evangelical Christian fellowship, meeting every Sunday, 10 a.m. at Hidalgo 441, in the new Bravo Theatre directly adjacent to the Carretera.

Riberas Meditation
