Time and place to say ‘Gracias, México!’

In honor of Mexican Independence Day, Open Circle Ajijic will present a tribute to the country and its exceptional people with a special program Sunday, September 15, 10:30 a.m., on the grounds of the Lake Chapala Society.

In lieu of a guest speaker, on this occasion nine regular audience members will take the podium to share personal experiences wrapped together under the title “Moment of Mexican Grace,” to be followed by a surprise ending.

“Many of us have experienced extraordinary moments when spontaneous graciousness touched our hearts,” says Open Circle steering committee co-head David Bryen. “We offer this program as a thank you to this country for the generous embrace that has welcomed us here. We are grateful for all our host country has given us: its music, art, healing, and all the riches that a culture with heart can offer.”

He expects the event will stir further conversation about the positive aspects of this country, generating good vibes to counteract negative news reports that flood international media.

Entrance to the patio area venue may be accessed at the gate located on Ramón Corona, between 16 de Septiembre and the lakefront. Free coffee, sandwiches and cookies are served from 10 a.m. Guests are asked to bring their own drink containers or purchase reusable mugs available at cost on the premises. Canine companions other than service dogs are not permitted.
