Twelve candidates are set to take the stage for the fourth Democratic presidential debate at Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio, on Tuesday, October 15.
Democrats Abroad chapters at lakeside and in Guadalajara have both planned debate watch gatherings.
The Lake Chapala chapter will meet at El Bar Co. on the Carretera (33A). A cover of 50 pesos includes a free beer, wine or margarita. The debate starts at 7 p.m., but attendees are advised to arrive earlier.
The Guadalajara chapter will meet at the Black Sheep, Libertad 1872, Colonia Americana, from 6 p.m. Pizza and drinks will be available.
Guadalajara Democrats will convene for a follow-up candidate discussion group on Sunday, October 20, 4 p.m., also at the Black Sheep.
The 12 candidates are former Vice President Joe Biden; New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker; South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg; former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Julián Castro; California Sen. Kamala Harris; Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar; former Texas Rep. Beto O’Rourke; Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders; California billionaire Tom Steyer; Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren; entrepreneur Andrew Yang; and Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard.
