The 42nd Mexican National Chili Cookoff – set next year for February 7, 8, and 9 – is one of Ajijic’s biggest and best parties of the year, with all-day entertainment, a parade, and plenty of food and drink.
Most importantly, it is not just a chili contest but raises money to support nine Lakeside charities. The Cookoff is also an important event for more than 100 vendors, businesses, and organizations that set up booths.
The Cookoff board of directors needs new members to collect raffle prizes, design print ads and the program. And it also needs someone to step up to learn the ropes of running the event.
Contestants are also required for the chili, salsa, and margarita contests. As always, volunteers will be needed during the three days of the Cookoff.
