Today, more than 70 million people worldwide have fled their homes.  And yet, in this moment of unprecedented need, many countries are grinding refugee admissions programs to a halt, imposing extreme limits on the ability of asylum seekers to find safety, and cutting humanitarian aid.  We are witnessing one of the largest humanitarian crises in human history.

Building on the momentum of the inaugural National Refugee Shabbat, in which nearly 300 congregations across the United States and abroad participated, National Refugee Shabbat 2020 presents an opportunity to remember how our Jewish history and values create a special connection to this crisis and inspire us to address it.
