Christ Church
Christ Church Lakeside, a parish of the Diocese of the West in the Anglican Church of Mexico, will observe the ninth Sunday After Pentecost, August 2, celebrating the Holy Eucharist at 11 a.m. via Zoom. Rev. Linda Ramos will celebrate and give a message with the theme “Loaves and Fishes” based on Matthew 14:13-21.
A Food distribution is Tuesday, August 4, 1 p.m. at the last soccer field on Calle Revolucion, the street where Ajijic’s Wednesday market is held. Help is always needed. Don’t forget to bring your mask.

Lakeside Presbyterian
Sunday, August 2, 10 a.m., Dr. Wayne Cook continues LPC’s examination of the Psalms, speaking from Psalm 119, the longest chapter in the Bible. A traditional form of poetry at the time, every section starts with a letter of the Hebrew alphabet, beginning with Aleph (A), ending with Tav (T) — like A to Z.
Recorded versions are available on facebook.com/lpcchapala, and on www.lpcchapala.org. Devotionals are posted to these sites Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings.
The pandemic continues to demand our courage and best efforts; thankfully, our personal deprivations and sacrifices of freedom have borne fruit; to our best knowledge, none of our parishioners nor their families have fallen prey to COVID.

Abundant Life Church
God is in control. Government, pharmaceutical companies, Facebook and YouTube are not the last words on what is happening in our world and lives. God sees everything and is surprised by none of what is happening. As believers we can be assured that God is watching and has full control. Sunday, August 2, 10 a.m., Pastor Gary takes us to the Word of God for encouragement. Knowing that God´s eyes are upon us can give us great hope in desperate times.

2 Timothy 3:16: “All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness.
This verse says that Scripture is inspired or “God breathed.” Notice that the object of God’s breath is the written Scriptures; the actual human writers aren’t mentioned. They were involved, of course, but the forming of Scripture is referred to as God’s activity. Many people today discount the value of the Bible but God says it’s profitable and four areas are mentioned here. It’s profitable for teaching. That tells me what is right. It’s profitable for reproof which tells me what is not right. It’s profitable for correction, which tells me how to get right. And it’s profitable for training in righteousness. That tells me how to keep right. You can’t get a better guidebook for life because it was given to us by God. Read it, study it, memorize it and obey it. That way you can share in the profits.
