St. Andrew’s angels heap blessings on charity homes

The Angel Caring Tree is a longstanding Christmas tradition at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church. In previous years, parishioners purchased gifts from a “wish list” for children that the Outreach Committee delivered to recipients on Three Kings Day or Epiphany Sunday.

pg15aBecause of Covid-19, the 2020 Angel Tree was handled a little differently.

“Even though Covid is a reality, so is caring at Christmas,” said Outreach Committee Co-chair Cheri Ware. “Dealing with pandemic restrictions forced us to think of new ways to serve our community.”

The committee set up the Angel Tree at the church as usual, but accepted only cash donations in lieu of gifts items.  Two Chapala charities that receive little support or acknowledgment throughout the year, let alone at Christmas, were selected as beneficiaries.
