Little Chapel
There will be a guest speaker this Sunday before returning to Pastor Pete’s sermon series next week on the book of Daniel, titled “Survival Kit for the Final Days.”
A young man that Pastor Campbell had the opportunity to mentor will be sharing the Word with us Sunday, February 28, 11 a.m., at our praise and worship service at the Little Chapel by the Lake.
Donations for our monthly food and clothing distribution can be dropped off in the big purple donation box in front of the Chapel. The monthly distribution is Tuesday, March 2; meet at the Chapel at 3 p.m. to load up and carpool to San Juan Tecomatlan.
Wednesday, March 3, 4 p.m., we will watch an inspirational video from Questar about answered prayers. The following Wednesday we will return to the Bible Study on the book of Hebrews.

Christ Church
Christ Church Lakeside, a parish of the Diocese of the West in the Anglican Church of Mexico, will observe the second Sunday in Lent, February 28, by celebrating a Holy Eucharist service, 11 a.m. in the La Huerta Eventos Center. Rev. Linda Ramos will celebrate and Rev. Deacon Jerry Stiles will give the message “Take Up Your Cross” based on Mark 8:31-38. The service will not be Zoom televised. Covid-19 Jalisco state ordinances and diocesan mandates will be observed. Masks are required.

The Loaves and Fishes Food Distribution will be held Tuesday March 2, 12:30 p.m. at Calle Jesus Garcia 11 in San Antonio, Tlayacapan. NOTE: This is the new location. Help is needed to fill the buckets with food for distribution to the needy. For safety, wearing your protective gear is mandatory. The Lake Chapala Baptist Church will be open Sunday, February 28, 11 a.m. for an in-person service. Protocol for Covid, including masks, sanitizing and social distancing will be followed.
Okay, so you’re in a conversation and you begin to disagree on several issues. This then moves on to a heated discussion which evolves into an argument. And you think, “I’m fighting a losing battle.” Does your life feel like a losing battle? If anyone is “in Christ” he/she is a new creation, the battle is the Lord’s. You are not fighting a losing battle!
However, we cannot simply sit back in our soft, comfy chairs and do nothing. Pastor John Linton spoke of actions that a Christian must pursue. We must make a change of course; for a ship in a storm headed toward rocks and sure destruction, only a change of course will save it from wreckage. So it is with those who are committed to Christ.
Like rust on iron, lust devours the soul, whether sexual, addictive habits, thoughts, greed, desire for power, vain-glory, impurity, one’s ill-chosen friends, lies, pornography, or whatever god a person pursues. Rocky cliffs ahead...wreckage! Paul the apostle said, put to death what is earthy in you...the holy anger of God is coming...you must rid yourself of anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk...put off the old self...clothe yourselves with the new spiritual self which is being made more perfect in the image and likeness of our Creator. God is for you, God is with you! You are God’s precious child! Now live like it!

St. Andrew’s Anglican
Sunday, February 28, with our church once again open, we will continue to live-stream our service, accessed on-line through our website link, standrewsriberas.org, beginning at 10 a.m. (no earlier). It will remain on the website until Saturday, March 6.
On the 28th, Bishop Ricardo Gomez Osnaya will visit St. Andrew’s to preside, preach and celebrate Holy Communion.
Also, Bishop Ricardo will lay hands on those who wish to be confirmed, be received or to reaffirm their faith. Please let the parish office know if you wish to be one of those persons and to say in which category.
Now that we’re again open for worship we’re restarting St. Andrew’s feeding program, collecting non-perishable food items to donate to Operation Feed. Boxed milk and empty cardboard egg cartons are especially welcome, in addition to rice, beans, pasta, lentils, garbanzos, oats, oil and salt. Operation Feed distributes these foodstuffs to Lakeside’s neediest families.

We’ve all encountered the idea of ‘eternity’ or ‘eternal life’ offered as words of comfort, typically at funerals or memorial services. But what is eternity anyway? Would eternal life be all that great? We’ll explore various religious concepts of eternity, as well as what science has to say about time and eternity. Joani Ward will lead this service.
Lakeside Presbyterian

Pastor Wayne will continue with the Sermon on the Mount series. He will talk about how “Jesus came to fulfill the Law.”
The religious leaders of Jesus’ day hated him. His ideas and actions did not accord with what they considered to be a religious person. They accused him of being a law-breaker, a wine-bibber, and a Sabbath-breaker. Their righteousness concept was to follow the law carefully; this was the only way to be acceptable before God. To their minds, Jesus was trying to abolish the law. In our verses today, Jesus said that he has not come to abolish the law but to fulfill the law.
So how exactly did he fulfill it?
LPC supports feeding programs at Niños de San Antonio, A.C., and in the pueblos of Mezcala, La Cuesta and La Zapotera. Thirtyfour despenas were delivered the third week of February for a total of 221 despensas so far this year.

Abundant Life Church
What does a Christian look like? Some think that they have a certain bumper sticker on their car or dress a certain way, but a true Christian does not depend on these external signs. A real Christian looks like Jesus. Galatians 3:27 says that, as believers, we have clothed ourselves with Christ. Come Sunday, February 28, and be encouraged to live the life God intended you to live. We do not live like the world, we are different. We live constantly guided by the Holy Spirit and look like Jesus everywhere we go.
Abundant Life Church is affiliated with the Assemblies of God of Mexico and has services for everyone.

1 Corinthians 11:7 says, “Man is the image and glory of God.” This isn’t true of anything else in the creation, only man. We share some biological features with animals and even some cellular structure with plants, but we’re different than they are. Man was created in the image of God and when you talk about that, you need to talk about self-consciousness, which only man possesses. Man has the capacity to understand himself and the capacity to think abstractly, because that’s necessary in the relationships we engage in. We also have the ability to appreciate beauty, to feel emotion, be morally conscious, to reason and to acquire wisdom. We’ve been endowed with these abilities in order to connect on a personal level with other people. But better than that, we’ve been created this way in order to connect on a personal level with God. We have the ability to love other humans and to love God. The core of “being in the image of God” can be summed up with the words “personal relationship.” Man has been created with the capacity to love others and to love God. We are “fearfully and wonderfully made.”
