Lakeside Presbyterian Church’s English-language congregation meets at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday.

The serenity prayer says: “God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to

change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.”

Jesus told us not to worry and to simply trust in God to take care of us. In Philippians, Paul tells us

how he learned to avoid worry and to be content in all circumstances. This week, Dr. Wayne Cook’s

sermon is titled “How to Stop Worrying” with Philippians 4:1-15 as the text.

Join us in person or watch our service later in the week at lpcchapala.org. Masking and social distancing protocols continue to apply during our service. If you need transportation to and from church on Sunday, call 376-106-0853:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Tuesday to Friday to arrange a ride.

Lake Chapala Baptist

Pastor John Linton opened last Sunday’s sermon this way: “Encouragement… How we need it!” Titled Encouragement for the Family of God, the lesson was based on 1 John 2: 12-14, which exhorts us to stretch ourselves spiritually. “John wants his readers to have an authentic faith,” he said. “What are the stages of our

Christian life? Do you have a plan to grow spiritually? Don’t be satisfied to remain where you were yesterday! God wants us to grow in the richness of His grace.”

Abundant Life Church

Why does God love us? Are we so wonderful that He would choose us out of all the creatures of the world? If we are honest with ourselves we would have to admit that there is nothing that wonderful about us. The reason that God loves us is not because we are wonderful but because He is. God is so wonderful and loving that He is always trying to show us just how much we are loved. He wanted us even while we were sinners! But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Rom 5:8) Come Sunday, September 12, to discover just how wonderful God´s love is toward you.

English Sunday service is at 10 a.m., also at abundantlifechapala.com. Bible study is Wednesdays at 3 p.m. in English. Carretera Chapala-Joco 140 in San Antonio Tlayacapan, a block from Super Lake market.
