“It spreads through the world, even to the people of God.” During the crushing times described in the book of Amos, fear and lawlessness ruled. All one must do is look around to see history repeating itself in the most appalling way. “The days of Noah and Lot are here,” he said. “The lion has roared, and who shall not fear him?” But Christians have hope: “God is in total control! We are to trust Him and be at peace, constrained in our hearts to be accountable for living the life God wants us to live, even in times of encroaching fear. God has reached out and grabbed you up, and said, ‘You are Mine!’”

St. Andrew’s Anglican
On the 19th Sunday after Pentecost, October 3, St. Andrew’s Anglican is open for worship. All Covid protocols are followed, and masks must be worn.
Pastor Rodger Ericson will preach and the Reverend Robbin Moore will preside and celebrate Holy Communion. A live-stream service, accessed online through standrewsriberas.org, begins at 10 a.m.
On October 3, Rodrigo Leal becomes our organist/choirmaster. He brings a commitment to choral directing, a youthful attitude, considerable talent and musical experience. Due to Covid, a choir is not now possible, but, Rodrigo is looking for singers who would like to join a new choir, sing as a soloist or in a small group on Sundays.
Blessing the Animals will be Saturday October 9, 4 p.m. in the parish garden.
Book Club resumes, meeting 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 11, to discuss “The Whip,” by Karen Kondazian.
St. Andrew’s feeding program is collecting beans and other non-perishable food items to donate to Operation Feed.
After our service, please join us for coffee and cookies in the garden. If you’d like to make a contribution or provide cookies for a future coffee hour, you can sign up on the sheet on the wooden stand near the garden pathway.
Every donation or consignment to our Todo Bueno resale shop benefits St. Andrew’s Outreach Ministry and enables our parish to support a number of Lakeside charities. Hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.

Little Chapel by the Lake
Sunday, October 3, Pastor Pete Campbell will be conducting the Communion service, and a guest speaker, from Youth With A Mission, Henk Kaemingk, whose own mission is in the state of Chihuahua, will be giving the sermon at the 11 a.m. praise and worship service of the Little Chapel by the Lake, located on the Ajijic-Chapala Highway #10 in Chula Vista.
To contribute to our monthly food distribution in San Juan Tecomatlan, drop off donations in the big purple box in front of the Chapel. Next distribution date: October 5, meeting at the church parking lot at 3 p.m. to carpool.
Women’s Bible study continues at the Little Chapel Tuesday, 10 a.m. in the book of Ephesians.
“Hidden Treasures” with Chuck Missler will be shown in the Fellowship Hall Wednesday, October 6, 4 p.m.
Conversational Spanish is Fridays at 1 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall, open to all who are interested in improving their spoken Spanish.
Unitarians
The Lake Chapala Unitarian Universalist Fellowship is now offering in-person services for those who are fully vaccinated at the fellowship hall located on the Carretera at Hidalgo 261, Riberas del Pilar (and also on Zoom). Covid 19 protocols are followed and masks are required.
Susan Miller, Sharon Robinson, Robert Barnett and Cat Barnett will offer reflections on kindness and not judging others at the October 3, service.
Christ Church Lakeside

Christ Church Lakeside, a Parish of the Diocese of the West in the Anglican Christ Church of Mexico, will observe the 19h Sunday after Pentecost, October 3, by celebrating the Holy Eucharist Service in person and via Zoom at 10:30 a.m. in our location two doors East, and on the same side of the La Huerta Eventos Center.

Abundant Life Church
What does it mean to love someone? There is a lot of talk about love from people both within the church as well as those outside of her walls, but each one has a distinct concept of what love is. As believers it is im-perative that we know what love is because Jesus says that it will distinguish His disciples from everyone else (John 13:35). Come this Sunday, October 3, ready to not only understand the kind of love that God calls us to but also to put it into practice.
