The municipal ecology departments in Jocotepec and Tizapán el Alto collaborated in the rescue of a barn owl that was found after suffering injuries in a recent brush fire.
The bird was turned over to the Wild Life Rescue Unit in Tlajomulco de Zuñiga for immediate medical attention and subsequent care.
Should it survive, the owl’s plumage was so severely charred that it will require feather implants in order to gain sufficient strength to be reintroduced to its natural habitat.
