Soak up the suds in Tlaquepaque

Tlaquepaque’s sixth Festival de la Cerveza (Beer Festival) takes place Saturday, July 29 and Sunday, July 30, noon to midnight, in the garden area facing the famous Pila Seca fountain.

More than 30 producers of craft beer will be offering their brews for tasting and sale, with more than 200 labels showcased, according to organizers. While the majority be will native to Jalisco, a few other states, and some foreign brews, will also be participating.  A wide choice of food and snacks, plus varied musical entertainment, will be offered on both days. Workshops on Saturday (150 pesos each) are “Discover your beer” at 3 p.m., “Pairings with cheese” at 5 p.m. and “Pairings with chocolate” at 8 p.m. The same workshops are held on Sunday at 2, 4 and 6 p.m.
