A class of 70 municipal police officers from Chapala, Jocotepec and other lakeshore region communities were awarded diplomas for completing a three-week training course in basic criminology conducted by professors from Guadalajara’s Colegio Libre de Estudios Universitarios (CLEU).

A large container truck pulled up at the Villa Infantil de Guadalupe y San Jose last week loaded with non-perishable Heinz foods, fruits and other supplies with an estimated value of around 120,000 pesos.

Representatives from the Jalisco Secretariat of Education (SEJ) were on hand to congratulate the parents and sponsors of the 43 Niños de Chapala y Ajijic (NCA) elementary through university and trade school graduates feted during a grand graduation celebration on Saturday, July 18. 

A group of Mexican and expat tennis aficionados have been working with San Juan Raquet Club pro Juan Carlos Castro to construct four new clay courts. 

In each season of their six-year history, the Naked Stage has donated the theater’s profits to Cruz Roja Chapala. Thanks to an exceptional response from their always loyal audiences, this year the group has been able to present a mid-year donation of 20,000 pesos to the local Red Cross.
