Christ Church Anglican

Christ Church Anglican Fellowship (CCAF) will celebrate The Second Sunday of Epiphany with the Holy Eucharist Rite II at Manix Restaurant, Ocampo 57 in Ajijic, on Sunday, January 15 at 10 a.m. The sermon topic will be “Can Anything Good Come out of Nazareth ?” based on John 1:43-51.

St. Andrew’s Anglican

Many of us here at Lakeside think of ourselves as belonging to the “mature” generation. Along with that comes the temptation to consider ourselves wise, knowledgeable, and deserving to be in control or in charge of those groups and organizations fortunate enough to have us as members. So how do we respond when out preeminence is challenged, or when new ideas and new energy threaten to take the place of “the way we’ve always done it?” One of the readings on Sunday, January 15 is the story of how God raised up young Samuel to take the place of the wise priest Eli. Based on that text, the sermon takes a look at God and the “Generation Gap.” As it turns out … well maybe you should show up and hear for yourself how it turns out.

Whatever generation you are a part of, you’re welcome at either the 9 a.m. or the 11 a.m. worship service and also during the fellowship and refreshment period between the two services.

During the coffee time, take the opportunity to sign up for St. Andrew’s Italian Festival to be held on Tuesday, January 31. It will be an exciting event to start the new year with an Italian lunch, live music, door prizes and a grab bag auction. The fun starts at 1 p.m. and the cost is 175 pesos. You may also reserve through the church office that’s open every weekday morning between 9 a.m. and noon. St. Andrew’s is located at Calle San Lucas 19 in Riberas del Pilar.
